An engineer by education and having spent many years in senior management roles in both public and private sector organisations throughout the UK, Dr Lennon is currently a self employed consultant and serial entrepreneur who chairs a number of N. Ireland based SME companies.
He has also been a Civil Service Commissioner, responsible for running NI Civil Service senior appointment processes and Chairman of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s sponsored Research and Education Advisory Panel.
Dr Lennon was formerly Chairman of CCEA for 9 years – leading the 250 person organisation in the development and delivery of education services to NI schools and achieving the top European EFQM award for business excellence.
In January 2008 he received an OBE for services to Education in Northern Ireland and retains a keen interest in education matters. He regularly contributes articles on the roles of education in economic policy to the First Trust Economic Review.
