Colin Elliott is currently Vice President of Engineering and Customer Support at Bombardier Aerospace in Northern Ireland.
Colin began his career at Short Brothers in 1977 as a technical apprentice working initially in structures design and later in advanced design. He then moved to the Stress department, where he specialised in the design, analysis and certification of composite structures.
Following the acquisition of Shorts by Bombardier in 1989, Colin was assigned positions of increasing responsibility on several new aircraft programmes including the Learjet 45 and Global Express business aircraft. He was appointed Director, Product Development in 1995 and was promoted to Vice President, Engineering in 2000. Responsibility for Business Development was added in 2007.
Colin holds an MBA in Manufacturing Management from Coventry University, is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and chair of the Belfast branch.
